Actually that makes some sense in principle. But given that we are most likely at a peak for RE prices for some time, the developer isn't giving up much.

As for location, it makes sense to me to locate high density near transportation hubs, be they transit stations or freeway exits, as this minimizes travel through other neighbourhoods.patriotzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11154064267408955762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31427364.post-51539144756805060492007-03-24T00:30:00.000-07:002007-03-24T00:30:00.000-07:00Don't forget the Jim Pattison auto mall that is cr...Don't forget the Jim Pattison auto mall that is crazy bright illuminated dusk to dawn 365 days a year right next door!!Donaldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04538284792519589693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31427364.post-25666857980463502942007-03-23T14:44:00.000-07:002007-03-23T14:44:00.000-07:00That makes sense, thanks. That makes sense, thanks.Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10104704096049638272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31427364.post-9946221741723084782007-03-23T13:58:00.000-07:002007-03-23T13:58:00.000-07:00djmk - 400 units - you wish!Try 1000 units! And yes - traffic is atrocious there already - I don't know what they are thinking.

aleks - from my understanding a 'spring mortgage' is when the buyer does not pay full price for the unit until they sell it. For example, Bob buys a $200k unit for $180k. The 10% difference is the 'spring mortgage' part, which the city owns and is entitled to when the unit is sold. So if the unit sells 10 years later for $250k the city is entitled to $25k.mohicanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06094213357140749289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31427364.post-72605823254633452242007-03-23T12:41:00.000-07:002007-03-23T12:41:00.000-07:00ah, just when you thought the 152nd exit to the hi...ah, just when you thought the 152nd exit to the highway could not get any worse, the wonderful planners in surrey put close to 400 units right next to it.

brilliantdjmkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13518043826584679294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31427364.post-8703588387661254552007-03-23T12:07:00.000-07:002007-03-23T12:07:00.000-07:00Can someone describe what a "spring mortgage" is a...Can someone describe what a "spring mortgage" is and how it works?Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10104704096049638272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31427364.post-16743141881555259212007-03-23T09:26:00.000-07:002007-03-23T09:26:00.000-07:00When I read the description and look at the lcoati...When I read the description and look at the lcoation I think "ghetto" immediately.mohicanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06094213357140749289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31427364.post-39419658627596439982007-03-23T08:53:00.000-07:002007-03-23T08:53:00.000-07:00Does anyone know this area of Surrey is second onl...Does anyone know this area of Surrey is second only
to whalleyUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17805237811069377808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31427364.post-86258514462284395842007-03-23T07:54:00.000-07:002007-03-23T07:54:00.000-07:00Hmmm... high density, overcrowded concrete buildin...Hmmm... high density, overcrowded concrete buildings made as efficently (read: cheap) as possible, subsidised by the city. Even the centralized heating control is included (WTF?). I think there is a name for this kind of development: it's called PROJECTS.

OK, they will soon become projects anyway.doghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07996392376680973866noreply@blogger.com
